If you’re still desperate to get your hands on a Nintendo Switch, but don’t want to pay a premium, you’re in luck. On Friday, GameStop sent out a press release announcing that it will have more Switch units in stock next week. You will have to go to an actual brick-and-mortar store to purchase one, but it beats buying a Switch from a scalper on Amazon or eBay, or buying an unnecessary bundle full of junk.
Last week, GameStop opened up preorders on its website for two Nintendo Switch bundles that started at $509.99. If you want to guarantee that you get a Switch by next month and don’t care how much you pay for it, you can keep an eye on the GameStop website and preorder one as soon as it goes back on sale.
Alternatively, if you’re willing to take a chance by heading to your local GameStop next week, you can save hundreds of dollars AND get a Switch right away. According to Forbes, GameStop expects to receive its next shipment of Switch units by next Wednesday, so you might want to call a nearby store now to ask for more details. Supplies will be limited, so you’ll have to act fast when the Switches arrive.
“GameStop continues to see strong demand from customers who are looking to purchase the Nintendo Switch system. We are meeting this demand by securing additional systems as fast as we can to ensure customers are able to purchase this innovative gaming technology,” said GameStop senior director of merchandising Eric Bright in a statement. “The customer enthusiasm and response we have seen so far has been incredible as we continue to sell through our supply of systems. We strongly suggest any customer who is still looking to purchase a Nintendo Switch, visit one of our stores as soon as they can. This new allotment will go fast!”
