Remember when Samsung mocked the unreleased iPhone 7 for not having a headphone jack? Back in August, I bet you a rare Pokemon that Samsung will copy the iPhone in that regard, and what do you know, a new series of reports seems to indicate that’s exactly going to be the case.

DON’T MISS: Demand for VR headsets has been surprisingly disappointing

Samsung’s next-gen high-end smartphone is launching in a few months, and a new series of reports reveals many details about the upcoming phone which seem to cement one idea: Samsung isn’t done finding inspiration in the iPhone.

One of the things Galaxy S8 is going to steal from the iPhone 7 is the headphone jack design. According to the well-informed SamMobile, Samsung will ditch the standard audio jack and replace it with a USB Type-C port that will handle audio.

That means you won’t be able to recharge the phone and listen to music at the same time — just like the iPhone 7. On the other hand, we expect the Galaxy S8 to feature wireless charging, in which case you’ll be able to both charge the handset and use the USB-C port for audio purposes.

SamMobile was also able to learn additional details about the handset. The phone will supposedly have a 2K display just like its predecessor, but the Super AMOLED screen will be of superior quality, as it’s going to be made of brand new material.

The new OLED screen will have the standard RGB arrangement, but it will feature significantly more pixel than the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S6. The screen it will also help Samsung offer better battery life as it will consume less power.

The report goes on to say that Samsung will ditch the home button on the Galaxy S8 next year, which will significantly increase the screen-to-body ratio. The fingerprint sensor will be embedded in the display. Conversely, the iPhone 8 was rumored to feature an all-screen display with an embedded Touch ID sensor in the display well before Galaxy S8 rumors started to circulate.
