Aside from the election of Donald Trump, the silliest thing that happened this month might have been the unveiling of Apple’s photo book, titled “Designed by Apple in California.” Featuring 450 high-quality images of Apple’s own products, the book can be yours for a measly $299 (or $199 for the small edition).

Silly things are Stephen Colbert’s speciality, so you probably won’t be surprised to learn that The Late Show had a short sketch about the ultra-expensive Apple book on Thursday night, lampooning both its content and its price:

Like any great Apple reveal video, The Late Show’s parody highlights the unique features of the Apple book, such as “touch page technology,” which allows you to swipe your finger on a page to turn it, and sequential numbering, which means that… the pages are in order. Page 3 comes after 4, which comes before 5.

Oh, and in case you think this is a bit over the top, here’s an actual quote on Apple’s website from chief design officer Jony Ive about the book:

“The idea of genuinely trying to make something great for humanity was Steve’s motivation from the beginning, and it remains both our ideal and our goal as Apple looks to the future. This archive is intended to be a gentle gathering of many of the products the team has designed over the years. We hope it brings some understanding to how and why they exist, while serving as a resource for students of all design disciplines.”

“Gentle gathering.” What a world we live in.
