Tesla CEO Elon Musk just tweeted that today’s mysterious product announcement will go down at 8:00 PM Eastern Time / 5:00 PM Pacific. More than just confirming the time, however, Musk also said that the announcement will have something to do with the Model 3.

Tesla has been teasing today’s event for a little over a week now. The announcement will be followed by a 30 minute Q&A session with select media outlets.

Now if you’re wondering what in the world Elon Musk and co. have in store, well, so is everyone else. In an age where seemingly everything leaks, Tesla has done a pretty solid job of keeping today’s event completely under wraps. Still, given what we know about Tesla, a few interesting theories as to what Musk will unveil later today have been making the rounds.

One of the most persistent theories has been that we’ll see more details on the Model 3, and that seems to be confirmed now. Remember, the Model 3 vehicles we’ve seen thus far have all lacked an instrument cluster and there are rumblings that the shipping version of the Model 3 will instead incorporate a HUD into the windshield.

The announcement could be most focused on the interior of the Model 3, and that rumored heads-up display. It’s also possible that we’ll get more details about a future version of Tesla’s Autopilot, since Musk previously said that he’d talk about the Model 3’s autonomous features “later this year.” Time is running out, Mr Musk.
