Newsflash: people love stuff. They have tons of stuff and they want more stuff. They purchase stuff online all the time, like this 4K Ultra HD TV or this giant wall decal of a random elderly Asian gentleman (what in the?). When they buy stuff, they can’t wait to get their new stuff so they track their deliveries incessantly until they arrive.

If you’re a package tracking addict, we have news. It might be great news and it might be awful news, depending on your perspective. With its new “Follow My Delivery” service, UPS allows you to track the exact location of a package on a map in near real time until it arrives at your doorstep.

On Thursday evening, UPS announced the service that package tracking addicts have spent their entire lives waiting for.

If you have a free My Choice account (of course you do) and you have something shipped using either UPS Air or UPS Worldwide Express, you can now track your delivery in near real time on a map. You’ll see it leave your local distribution center and make its way around town. You’ll even see it sitting in the parking lot of an abandoned office building for 45 minutes while the UPS driver eats lunch.

Here’s a photo of what you can expect to see on the UPS site:

“We have continually improved the industry’s most powerful tool of its kind and today we made it even better,” said UPS CMO Teresa Finley in a press release. “Follow My Delivery is the latest example of how we use technology to improve the ecommerce consumer delivery experience from the point of purchase to the time of delivery.”

Translation: Good luck staying productive the next time you’re waiting for a delivery, package tracking addicts.
