A few days ago, news broke that some of the most influential leaders in tech, including Apple’s Tim Cook, Tesla’s Elon Musk and Alphabet’s Eric Schmidt, met in secret at the American Enterprise Institute’s annual World Forum, plotting to stop Donald Trump’s growing momentum.

However, Musk was quick to debunk the report, saying the secret meeting wasn’t secret at all and it wasn’t about Trump either.

Using Twitter to deliver his message, Musk noted that “the AEI meeting wasn’t secret, and I was only there for a few hours to talk about Mars and sustainable energy. Nothing to do with Trump.”

Trump may of course have still been a topic of discussion at some point, though we have no idea what went on at the meeting. It also doesn’t mean that Musk supports Trump in any capacity. When asked on Twitter following the statement above whether he supports Trump, Elon Musk answered with a simple “No.”

In spite of many votes going his way during primaries so far, Trump is seeing a lot of opposition from various groups, including high-profile Republicans who are not fans of the idea of Trump winning the Republican nomination. Trump’s comments have enraged many so far, and hearing that tech leaders would rally against him shouldn’t be a surprise, even though Musk denies it. After all, some of the crazy things Trump has said so far directly concern the tech sector.
