This is the week that Apple’s war with the FBI comes to a head.

Starting today at 1 p.m. ET, Apple General Counsel Bruce Sewell and FBI Director James B. Comey will appear in front of the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee as two key witnesses for the ongoing case regarding Apple’s unwillingness to unlock the iPhone of one of the San Bernardino shooters.

Apple has already received some good news this week, as a New York federal judge ruled on Monday that the FBI was placing an “unreasonable burden” on the company by asking them to help the government extract data.

As we noted yesterday, this has no direct bearing on the hearing today, but it is an encouraging sign for both Apple and proponents of digital security. Although the average American citizen might not agree with Apple’s insistence to keep data out of the hands of the government, the law could end up being on Apple’s side.

If you want to watch the proceedings, you can do so by tuning in to C-SPAN 3 today at 1 p.m. ET. The live stream is available here on C-SPAN’s website, but you’ll need a cable subscription login to access the stream. If you don’t want to have to log in, you can also watch the hearing via the YouTube video below:
