Is HTC’s next flagship another iPhone copy? New leaked photo suggests otherwise

After focusing on its line of mid-range phones at MWC 2016, HTC began hinting at its next flagship device via an email sent out to the press and on social media this Wednesday. Sharing an image stamped with the tagline “Power of 10,” it seems clear that the vendor is getting ready to announce the HTC One M10, but no further details were released.

Thankfully, that hasn’t stopped the leaks.

Hours after HTC sent out its mysterious email, Android Community ran across a post on a Chinese website which claims to show off an unseen image of the One M10 (or whatever HTC ends up calling it). While the company’s last big release was a carbon copy of Apple’s iPhone, it looks like the M10 might go in a different direction, contrary to recent rumors.

We can’t verify the legitimacy of the image (which appears above), but it does look strikingly similar to the mockup that leaked earlier this month and also features the same sharp edges that appear in the image HTC shared on Wednesday.

HTC’s next flagship is expected to feature a 5.1-inch QHD AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, up to 64GB of internal storage with microSD card slot, 13-megapixel camera, 12-UltraPixel camera with autofocus, 4K video recording, 3,000 mAh battery and an embedded fingerprint scanner.

The device does not have an official price or release date, but there are rumors that HTC will hold a launch event for the phone on April 11th.
