It’s very likely you’ve seen both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Making a Murderer at some point in the past few months, or at least one of them. You probably know everything there is to know about the new Star Wars episode and the new Netflix hit anyway, but just in case you don’t, a couple of major spoilers lie ahead, so don’t go any further if you want to avoid them.

At any rate, one brilliant person on the Internet decided to make a parody poster that combines the two completely unrelated movies, and the result is hilarious.

Found on Tumblr by The Huffington Post, the image below is simply perfect. The parody poster is based on a retro family picture of the Solos, showing Han Solo, Princess Leia and Ben Solo (a.k.a., the future Kylo Ren). The connection with Making a Murderer seems pretty obvious: Ben Solo becomes a murderer. He turns to the Dark Side, changes name to Kylo Ren, and kills his father in Episode VII.

Sure, Kylo Ren differs from the main character in Making a Murderer in that there’s no doubt of his guilt. He’s decidedly evil, and he’s not hiding it. But this doesn’t change the fact that the parody poster above is simply brilliant. Oh, and here’s the happy Solo family picture parody that was used to create the poster.
