The Internet is having a field day with Tim Cook’s blurry Super Bowl photo

If you’re the CEO of a company that claims to offer its customers one of the best, if not the best, camera experiences possible, you’re bound to face the brutality of the Internet as soon as you post one blurry photo. It’s all it takes, especially if that photo is taken right after Super Bowl 50 ends when everyone’s still online, enjoying the festivities.

That’s what Tim Cook did on Sunday night, shortly after the Broncos won the game: he took a quick picture from near the 20-yard line, showing the ongoing celebrations on the field. The photo, seen below, was out-of-focus, and the Internet had a field day with it.

It’s very likely Cook used an iPhone to take the picture, though that’s not clear at this time. But he didn’t bother to check it before posting it on Twitter – or, at least, that appears to be the case. He didn’t delete the image either, which is what you’d expect for this PR mess.

Obviously, just about anybody can have a bad photo day, regardless of his or her photo skills, and no matter what kind of camera he or she uses. Unfortunately, when it’s Apple’s CEO, the Internet goes wild.

Suffice to say this image will probably not make it into Apple’s “Shot with iPhone” ad campaign. And Apple certainly made sure it released plenty of ads to highlight the amazing qualities of the iPhone’s camera in the past few years.

As of this moment, Cook’s photo fail tweet was retweeted more than 400 times and liked more than 1,300 times. Here are some of the responses Cook got.
