We told you a new Suicide Squad trailer was due on Tuesday, and Warner Bros. delivered. Not only do we get two minutes and 30 seconds of villainy – for the greater good, of course – but the new trailer has an amazing score. Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody plays in the background, and the song seems remarkably appropriate from start to finish.
The “Worst. Heroes. Ever.” gang will hit theaters on August 5th, which means we have plenty of waiting to do before we get to see this particular movie. What’s great about Suicide Squad is that it’ll show us the world of the anti-heroes and what happens to them after Batman, Superman and other DC Comics superheroes save us from them.
They go to prison or mental institutions and they seem doomed to a life behind bars. However, the government decides it must rely on these individuals, and on their powers, to man a suicide mission that will save us all.
The video shows some of the suicide Gang, and you’ll easily recognize Will Smith as Deadshot and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. The Joker needs no introduction, but you might have a hard time figuring out that Jared Leto is the actor playing him.
Cara Delevingne is Enchantress, Jai Courtney plays Captain Boomerang, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is Killer Croc, Adam Beach is Slipknot, Karen Fukuhara is Katana, and Jay Hernandez is El Diablo. Also starring in the film are Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Scott Eastwood and Ben Affleck.
In other words, we’ll be in for an amazing treat later this year, which will only make us want more from DC Comics.
