Netflix’s shows are designed to be addictive, although getting hooked on them doesn’t happen immediately after just one episode. The Verge has posted some interesting data about the tipping point in Netflix’s most popular series when they transform from a passing interest into an obsession.

As someone who’s watched a few Netflix shows, I was particularly interested to know which episodes were the ones that fully hooked viewers. Here’s what we see from The Verge’s data:

  • House of Cards: Episode 3. I do remember this as a particularly good episode, as it’s the one where Frank Underwood returns to his old stomping grounds because a hometown rival is trying to wreck his career via a seemingly baseless lawsuit. Frank takes care of business and exacts business as he’s wont to do.
  • Orange is the New Black: Episode 3. Ah yes: This is the episode where Crazy Eyes started stalking Piper in earnest and she even peed on the floor to show Piper her dedication. I can see why so many people couldn’t stop watching after this episode.
  • Daredevil: Episode 5. This is a little puzzling since the fight scene at the end of the show’s second episode seems to be what generated the most buzz after the show came out this year. I was pretty much hooked on Daredevil from the start, though, so I might not be the best person to judge.
  • Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Episode 4. I always liked Kimmy Schmidt from the first episode but I don’t quite remember it being must-watch TV until Titus made his outrageous “Peeno Noir” music video. After that, I couldn’t stop.

Here are the other Netflix shows of note:

  • Bloodline — Episode 4
  • BoJack Horseman — Episode 5
  • Marco Polo — Episode 3
  • Sense8 — Episode 3
