The debate surrounding Jon Snow’s chances of appearing in future seasons of Game of Thrones has been raging ever since the end of season five. No matter how many times the cast and crew of the show deny that one of the show’s most beloved characters will return, everyone is still convincing that they’re being taken for a ride.

To make matters even more confusing, actor Kit Harington reportedly told Belgain magazine Humo in an interview this week that he’s going to be a part of the HBO smash hit for years to come. Here’s the exchange, as translated by a fan of the show on Reddit:

Harington: The important thing is that I now know exactly how long I am still under contract, and in the meantime –

Interviewer: How many more seasons would that be?

Harington: Nice try (laughs). I can’t talk about that. Let’s just say that Game of Thrones will remain a part of my life for a while, I’ll probably be in my thirties when it’s over. One thing’s for sure: the day I’m no longer on Thrones is the day I’ll bury myself in movie projects (laughs).

Kit Harington is just 27 years old, so unless he’s pulling our collective leg, he’s not only claiming that he’ll be a part of the show for at least three more years, but that would also mean the franchise is going to last longer than the rumored eight seasons. Still, this is a translation of a Dutch interview, and there’s no telling what Harington is willing to do to throw fans off the scent.

Regardless of Harington’s intentions, there’s no doubt that he has been spotted on the set of the sixth season, so we’re almost certain to see Jon Snow in some capacity, even if it is nothing more than flashbacks.
