The iPhone is a versatile tool that can be used for a variety of daily activities that make your life easier, including alleviating boredom and avoiding actual work at all costs. While you’re usually using apps on the iPhone rather than the device itself to get the job done, there’s one task for which you actually need to use the phone itself: Sabering a bottle of champagne.

This isn’t a joke, and to prove that point, Business Insider recorded a short video that shows you what you need to do to saber a bottle of champagne with an iPhone.

Assuming you already have the iPhone and bottle of champagne handy, you first have to find the seam of the bottle. Then hold the bottle at a 45-degree angle, and perform a few practice slides with the iPhone along the bottle’s neck. When you’re confident that you’ve got your aim right, go for the kill, and you should be able to saber it with one swift clean move.

Business Insider says you have to strike all the way firmly through the neck. Or… you could open the champagne bottle the usual way, which doesn’t involve potentially harming a rather expensive device.

Check out the full video below to see how this particular iPhone trick is performed.
