Over the past few months, Google has begun rolling out a new prototype of its self-driving car. You might have seen photos of the cars online, but over the weekend, Google visited the Community School of Music and Arts in Mountain View, California for the first public showing of the car.

Not only did attendees get to see the car up close, but they were actually able to peer inside to see what the interior of a self-driving car looks like. The Washington Post was fortunate enough to receive photos from those in attendance, so now the whole world can see exactly what Google has been working on.

The showing was apparently part of a project called ‘Paint the Town,’ in which Google is “inviting artists in California to submit art to be featured on our self-driving prototype vehicles for a month or more later this year.”

There’s no telling how far off we are from a final model of the self-driving car, but it’s certainly beginning to look like something you wouldn’t be surprised to see in a parking lot.
