I never thought of email as an impenetrable fortress until I started writing for a living. Email is both where a significant portion of my time is spent at work and also where I am forced to glance at dozens of pitches that have no relevance to BGR every day of the week. It can be a living hell, but last month, Giphy made Gmail just a touch brighter with a fantastic new extension.

If you’ve never used Giphy, here’s all you really need to know: it’s a search engine for GIFs. Search for “Marvel” and hundreds of Avengers GIFs will pop up in an instant.

With the extension, which Giphy published on the Chrome Web Store late last month, you can find an applicable GIF for your email within the Compose window in Gmail and pop it in with a single click.

If you’ve been looking for a way to spice up your boring email blasts, this might be the answer.
