Oh my. Think the display on Samsung’s Gear S watch is ridiculously big? You haven’t seen anything yet. Patently Mobile has flagged a recent Samsung patent that details a large flexible display that’s designed to wrap around your wrist. In other words, Samsung has designed the smartwatch equivalent of the Galaxy Grand.

In true Samsung fashion, it looks like you’ll actually be able to unbend the device to put it in a flat state and make it behave like a normal smartphone. In other words, it will let you watch a video on your phone’s display and then slap it across your wrist when you’re done.

The good news is that not everything that gets patented by a company will actually get made. Given how Samsung can’t really make this device look socially acceptable even in a patent filing means that it’s likely to stay buried deep within its underground design meth lab. Then again, this is the same company that decided it was a good idea to release the Galaxy Round and Diesel Black Gold editions of the Gear S, so anything’s possible.
