The Apple Watch might be the most important smartwatch hitting stores in the coming weeks, but there are also other compelling devices to consider. In fact, many recent Android Wear designs have proven that Apple’s competitors can definitely come up with some interesting watch concepts of their own, with one of them in particular stealing the show at MWC last month.

The unexpected Huawei Watch appears to be the best Android Wear device ever made. To further build up hype around the device ahead the Apple Watch launch, the company published 12 things “you need to know” about the Huawei Watch on its community pages.

According to Huawei, its watch is “crafted like a real watch,” featuring a “timeless design.” The device contains more than 130 components and its manufacturing process includes more than 260 steps, 160 of which are done by hand. The company says the smartwatch will be the world’s first to feature a sapphire crystal that’s impossible to scratch, and it’ll have a cold-forged stainless steel body that’s corrosion and scratch-resistant.

Huawei also says the device will be the highest resolution Android Wear device to date, featuring 400 x 400 resolution (286 pixel per inch) on its AMOLED screen, and 10,000:1 contrast ratio.

Other reasons that might convince you to choose the Huawei Watch include customization options for cases, straps and customizable watch faces.

On the software side, Huawei highlights the device’s smart fitness tracking abilities, as well as the unique Huawei Wear application that’s capable of integrating with third-party health platforms.

Finally, the Huawei Watch packs a 300 mAh battery, enough for the device to last for up to two days of typical use.

The official price of the watch and release dates aren’t available at this time, but you can read more details about these 12 features of the Huawei Watch on the company’s site.
