On Wednesday, the International Business Times published a report revealing that HBO’s upcoming streaming service will be called HBO Now and will cost $15 a month. HBO is working with its partners to have the service ready to launch in early April, before the premiere of the fifth season of Game of Thrones on April 12th.

The report also claims that Apple is working with HBO to make Apple TV a launch partner for HBO Now. Apple has apparently been one of the most aggressive suitors, according to sources close to the matter.

HBO Now has sounded like a no-brainer for years, but there have been several hurdles to overcome to make it a reality. One of the challenges that the IBTimes says HBO has to face is the potential confusion between HBO GO and HBO Now. Each service will have a separate app and a separate log-in, but HBO has to make sure to explain to potential subscribers that only one service offers an a la carte selection of its programming.

The price and launch date for the service have not yet been finalized, as HBO wants to ensure that the problems that plagued HBO GO during the busy season last year won’t befall its new service as well. Regardless, we expect to hear much more about the service in the weeks ahead.
