Last year’s Galaxy S5 was a disappointment but it sounds like Samsung is going to make up for it in a big way with the Galaxy S6. A new report from Bloomberg confirms that the Galaxy S6 will have an all-metal frame, making it the first flagship Galaxy device to have this particular feature.

FROM EARLIER: Leaked benchmarks show Samsung’s Galaxy S6 will be the most powerful phone ever made

Many Android fans have been clamoring for years for Samsung to use metal over plastic for its devices’ bodies, although the average consumer hasn’t really seemed to care about Samsung’s love of cheap-feeling plastic in the past. Even so, having a Galaxy S6 with a metal frame will be a particularly welcome change from what Samsung offered with the Galaxy S5, whose dimpled plastic casing quickly drew comparisons to Band-Aids.

Elsewhere in its report, Bloomberg writes that the Galaxy S6 will feature “Samsung’s most advanced processor chips,” which isn’t too surprising given that the device has been absolutely destroying records on early benchmarks we’ve seen.

And finally, Bloomberg confirms that Samsung will release two versions of the Galaxy S6: A standard version and an “Edge” version that will feature a display that wraps around both sides of the device.

All told, the Galaxy S6 looks like it’s going to be the most exciting release from Samsung in a long time.
