Samsung’s most important handset of 2015 will undoubtedly be the sixth-generation Galaxy S version, which has reportedly been designed from scratch, as the company is trying to avoid some of the mistakes in the past. Various leaked images have hit the web so far showing purported pictures of the upcoming Galaxy S6, including photos of the phone’s metal rear shell. Nowhereelse, a publication which has posted such pictures in the past, is back with more images that show this particular metal component.

FROM EARLIER: Samsung employee says that the company is exploring some wild Galaxy S6 designs

In past years, Samsung stayed faithful to plastic when it comes to designing flagship handsets like the previous Galaxy S model, but that will apparently change starting with the Galaxy S6.

According to the publication, the metal shell in the images below might show the final design Samsung chose for the Galaxy S6, although there’s no way to have this particular detail confirmed. The component was produced by a supplier Samsung frequently uses, but the source of the leaks was not able to share more details about it.

Nowhereelse also says that the cutouts on the back seem to be consistent with rear camera placement on Samsung handsets, and the potential battery position might also be consistent with Samsung handset designs.

Pictures showing this alleged Galaxy S6 component follow below, with more available at the source link.

UPDATE: SamMobile’s sources have apparently been able to confirm the metal frame in the following images actually belongs to the Galaxy A5, being an early prototype.
