Early leaks have already offered some details about HTC’s upcoming flagship device, codenamed HTC Hima and believed to be the HTC One (M9) handset, but that doesn’t mean the handset will be unveiled anytime soon.

FROM EARLIER: The ‘HTC Hima’ is a monster Android smartphone launching early next year

@upleaks, a leaks Twitter account that has provided information about various HTC devices in the past, says the flagship device won’t be unveiled at CES 2015 or MWC 2015, the most important tech events of the year, where many other mobile devices will be announced.

Instead, HTC will do the same thing it did in 2014 with the HTC One (M8), and that’s schedule a special event for the HTC Hima.

According to @upleaks, that event should take place at some point in March 2015, though no solid dates have been leaked at this point. Assuming these leaks are accurate, it means the HTC Hima is indeed a flagship HTC device, likely an HTC One version that deserves its own special moment in the spotlight rather than fighting for attention at CES or MWC.

The same source on Tuesday said the Hima will be available in three colors, including gray, silver and gold. When it comes to specs, the phone should pack a 5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 20.7-megapixel camera and a 2,840 mAh battery, though nothing has been confirmed at this point.
