Ah, if only the Moto X had always been supported by this kind of awesome ad campaign, it might have sold more units. Motorola has posted a brilliant ad for the 2014 Moto X that shows us just how much fun it can be to customize our own phone.

FROM EARLIER: Motorola has an awesome Moto X Cyber Monday deal that’s too good to pass up

The ad follows a somewhat ridiculous Motorola fan named Ben who is constantly making changes and adjustments to his new Moto X through the Moto Maker online portal. Every time he makes a change, a doppelgänger working in a cartoonish replica of a Motorola factory must scramble around to implement last-minute fixes. Ben doesn’t hesitate to make his device as silly as possible either, because he asks for an inscription on it that simply reads, “The Panda King.”

The first-generation Moto X also had Moto Maker support, although it was initially restricted to customers who bought their device through AT&T and it wasn’t given the kind of proper marketing push that it seems to be getting with this new ad campaign. The 2014 version of the Moto X is one of our favorite phones released this year so we’re happy to see it getting the kind of quality ads it deserves.
