Some 2014 Moto X users have already received Android 5.0 Lollipop update prompts, Ars Technica reports, with the company posting — and then pulling — documents for the Moto X and Moto G Lollipop updates on its website.

FROM EARLIER: You’ll have a hard time finding a Nexus 6 in T-Mobile stores at launch

“The very first Moto X variant getting the update is the ‘Pure Edition’ — an unlocked version of the phone, and for right now it’s going out to people who signed up for the ‘soak test’ — a limited rollout in preparation of a wider release,” the publication notes. “Next up for Moto will be making sure none of the soak testers report major problems over the next day or two and getting carriers on board to approve the update.”

Previously, Motorola confirmed that all its Moto X and Moto G models will be updated to Lollipop soon, and the company might roll out the official Android 5.0 updates for some of these devices soon after or at the same time as upgrades for its Nexus devices.

Ars further added that there haven’t been any Lollipop updates for Google Nexus devices yet as Google “didn’t want to steal the Nexus 6’s thunder,” with the phone that’s supposed to be released on November 12th.
