For the first time ever, Apple has launched larger iPhones than its usual 3.5-inch to 4-inch handsets, and while the company can’t handle iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus demand, some people still complain that the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch devices are too big for one-hand use. Apple has come up with a trick to make it easier for former iPhone owners to adapt to the bigger display — Reachability — in addition to reducing the profile of the handset and choosing rounded edges instead of squared ones. But these software solutions and design choices don’t address one problem with the handset: Typing with one hand.

FROM EARLIER: The single most important trick every iPhone 6 and 6 Plus user needs to know

iPhone 6 users can always use Siri’s advanced dictation features, but that still doesn’t solve the problem, as dictating messages and emails to your handset isn’t always an option.

Luckily, people looking for a way to still enjoy one-handed typing on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus can check out a special keyboard app that’s supposed to make it easier.

One Handed Keyboard is the new iOS app in question, and it is available for $1.99 in the App Store.

The app is “specifically designed to be the same size as the keyboard on the iPhone 5s / 5 / 4s… keyboard that you are used to using,” the app’s description reads.

As can be easily seen in the images above, users can move the keyboard to the right side or left side of the display, and also expand it to take over the full width of the screen when two-hand typing is needed.

In addition to support for one-hand operation, One Handed Keyboard also offers spell check and word suggestions features, as well as automatic (or customizable) dark and light themes to match the user interface.
