Apple is months away from releasing the new Apple Watch, so the device’s actual retail box is still a mystery. However, The Die Line features a concept from Design Packaging’s designer Evelio Mattos, who has come up with a clever retail box-wireless charger combination for the smartwatch that will also double as an iPhone dock that will be able to charge the watch and a smartphone at the same time.

FROM EARLIER: No one understands the Apple Watch strategy, and it’s totally a winner

The device could offer a solution to all the charging needs an Apple customer might have. Instead of having to carry around two distinct chargers for the iPhone and the Apple Watch, users will simply have to remember to pack this particular retail box that’ll also act as a dock for other iOS devices.

The concept is all the more ingenious considering that the Apple Watch is not meant to function as a standalone device, meaning that the first buyers will likely be iPhone users as well. Furthermore, the Apple Watch will likely require nightly charging, according to Apple’s most recent comments, and various iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus reviews have suggested that some iPhone power users might have to charge the 4.7-inch handset every night as well.

It’s not clear how Apple’s Watch charger will look like, but it’ll definitely come in the box of the device. In fact, Yahoo’s David Pogue learned that the 18-karat gold Edition of the device will come in a “gorgeous jewelry box,” that doubles as a charger. However, that doesn’t mean Apple’s charger design will look anything like the one in these concept renders. In fact, Apple’s box reportedly has the Magsafe charger standing vertically, which means it could not accommodate an iPhone Lightning connector for docking at the same time.

Even so, Kickstarters will likely come up with various accessories for Apple’s new line of mobile gadgets soon enough, including plenty of chargers and mobile batteries, so such a concept might become a real accessory at some point in the future.
