We already knew that BlackBerry has been having a good time watching Apple try to shore up its reputation for security following the massive celebrity iCloud photo hack. But now John Chen’s feisty underdog has taken things a step further and written a full post on its company blog explaining why everyone should have listened to BlackBerry all these years about the importance of mobile security.

FROM EARLIER: BlackBerry knows how angry iCloud hacking victims could have saved themselves a lot of trouble

“As the iCloud hacking story continues to unfold, experts are finding it hard to talk about strong mobile security without bringing the corporate embodiment of it into the discussion,” BlackBerry gloats before citing a recent segment on Fox Business that highlighted how people who still want top-notch security should still rely on — you guessed it — BlackBerry.

“One thing’s for sure – people are now thinking about mobile security more than they were last week,” writes BlackBerry. “If you want mobile security, you want BlackBerry.”

The nude celebrity photo hack and the revelations about the NSA’s vast surveillance practices have been a boon for BlackBerry, as many high-profile national leaders — including U.S. president Barack Obama, German chancellor Angela Merkel and U.K. prime minister David Cameron — still use BlackBerry for mobile communications.
