This probably isn’t the iPhone 6 retail box you were looking for

Following the many reports detailing those extremely accurate iPhone 6 clones from China that run a highly customized Android version that makes them look like genuine iOS devices, TechRadar has obtained images that reportedly show the iPhone 6 in its retail packaging. However real the images may appear to be, and it looks like they have not been doctored, chances are they’re not showing the real deal just yet.

FROM EARLIER: This knockoff iPhone 6 is so well done that you’ll mistake it for the real thing

While the iPhone image on the box seems to be a genuine press image of the device – and the apps’ arrangement is consistent with the iPhone 5s’s apps arrangement in press images – the fact is the picture is lacking a major app that Apple has already announced for iOS 8. Note that the Health app, which will likely receive prime placement on the phone’s home screen, is conspicuously absent.

Also, it’s not clear whether Apple will include the same number of apps on an iPhone 6’s screen as on the iPhone 5s, considering the increase in size for both upcoming iPhone 6 models.

The images also show what appears to be an iPhone 6 similar to dummy devices seen in many leaks, but there’s no way to prove it’s actually an iPhone. One of the pictures shows the phone booting up, but considering how detailed those iPhone 6 clones are when it comes to copying iOS, that’s not enough to prove this is an actual iPhone 6 model and not a clone.

What these newly leaked images seem to indicate, yet again, is that iPhone 6 clones are likely to deceive many potential buyers.
