Google is still rolling through announcements at Google I/O and it just unveiled Android TV, a new platform for television that aims to make developing apps for TV just as easy as it is to develop apps for smartphones. The platform will essentially let you use your Android phone as your television’s remote control where you can open up an Android TV app that will let you control everything on your TV screen right from your smartphone. The Android TV app also integrates Google’s voice enabled search functionality so you can search for shows and movies without having to shuffle through any menus.

Another really cool feature for Android TV is that it will let you essentially project any games on your Android phone or tablet onto your television. You can use your phone to tap into your Google Play games to launch your games and have them pop up on your TV. This could be a potentially great new feature going forward as mobile games get stronger graphics and look better on bigger screens.
