Two terrific new features make Google Now more useful than ever

Google Now Best New Features

What’s terrific about Google Now is that Google is constantly tinkering with it and adding new features that make it even more useful in subtle but important ways. Two new features that Google has recently added will now make scheduling calls and riding public transportation more convenient than before.

Android Police outlines the benefits of Google Now’s enhanced call scheduling feature, which now integrates with Google Maps to help give you relevant local options for your call reminders. So for instance if you say, “OK Google, remind me to call CVS to fill up my prescription,” Google Now will search for every nearby CVS in your area and give you a series of phone numbers to choose from. Once you choose which store you want to call, the call reminder will remember that number and give it to you as a click-to-dial option.

For the second feature, 9to5Google notes that Google Now has added a location-based public transportation feature that will let you know when it’s time to get off a bus or train. Essentially, the feature remembers where you typically get off on public transportation on regular basis at different times and will send you alerts for when your desired stop is coming up next. Of course, for this to work well you’ll need to live in a city where Google has information on public transportation so you shouldn’t start relying on it unless you’re sure Google Now knows about your area’s bus and subway systems.

Both features are definitely worth checking out and you can bet that there will be plenty more similarly useful features coming down the pike in the near future.
