Legere now has yet another reason to taunt AT&T’s CEO

T-Mobile CEO Legere Salary Compensation

T-Mobile CEO John Legere loves using social media to troll his adversaries and his favorite target happens to be AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson, whom he regularly addresses as “#randall” on Twitter. And now Bloomberg reports that Legere has yet another reason to taunt Stephenson: He’s apparently making more money than his counterpart at AT&T.

According to Bloomberg, Legere received $29.2 million in compensation in 2013, which is significantly more than Stephenson’s $23.2 million in compensation and Verizon CEO Lowell McAdams’s $15.8 million in compensation. All three execs’ compensations, however, were positively dwarfed by Sprint CEO Dan Hesse’s compensation package that totaled a whopping $49.1 million last year.

Ironically, the earnings of each CEO appear to be almost inversely proportional to their overall network quality as measured by a RootMetrics study released last month that ranked Verizon the best overall network, followed by AT&T, Sprint and then T-Mobile. Of course, Legere has also done a lot to turn T-Mobile around over the last year and a half and the carrier added a stunning 869,000 new postpaid subscribers in the last quarter alone.

T-Mobile will report its first-quarter earnings on May 1st and Legere has been hinting that we should expect yet another blowout postpaid subscribers number. If that does happen, then he’ll have yet another weapon to use against AT&T and rival carriers in his never-ending social media trollathon.
