Even though Samsung is not yet ready to say how much the Galaxy S5 will cost, the company seems extremely interested in convincing as many people as possible to buy the handset by offering them free apps and bonus content. Reports suggest that the South Korean giant wants to price the S5 lower than its predecessor, but carriers and retailers that have the handset up for pre-order suggest the phone will have a regular high-end price. Samsung has listed a variety of “gifts” on its website which amount to $575 in free content, however, suggesting that even priced in line with other flagship phones, the Galaxy S5 will offer owners a tremendous value.

As SamMobile reports, Samsung is offering premium access to a bunch of publications and subscriptions to services and apps, or app content as follows:

  • 6-month Wall Street Journal subscription – worth $160
  • 12-month Bloomberg Businessweek+ subscription – worth $30
  • 1-year Run Keeper premium service – worth $20
  • 1-year Lark premium service – worth $36
  • 6-month Skimble premium service – worth $42
  • 6-month Map My Fitness premium service – worth $36
  • PayPal – special offers “totaling $50 or more in value” from certain stores
  • 3-month LinkedIn premium account – worth $75
  • Free app purchase: EasilyDo Pro – worth $5
  • Free Blurb coupon – worth $5
  • Free app purchase: Flick Dat – worth $2
  • Cut the Rope 2 in-game credits – worth $10
  • 6-month 50GB of Box storage – worth $60
  • 3-month 1TB Bitcasa storage – worth $30
  • 3-month Evernote premium service –worth $15

Samsung is offering a similar bonus content promotion for its Pro line of Galaxy tablets

, meant to convince more buyers to purchase the newly released devices. It’s not clear whether the free apps will be already pre-loaded on the device, but services that require subscriptions, or apps that require subscriptions will require the user to sign up for them. Furthermore, while the package is worth $576, Samsung doesn’t specify how the gifts are to be processed for users that already are subscribed to publications, apps and services covered by the free bonus content promo.
