ABC on Sunday will live stream the 86th edition of the Oscars, although not all users interested in watching the show on a different screen than the TV will be able to tune in. While this will be the first time ever that ABC will stream live online through WATCHABC.com or the WATCH ABC iOS and Android apps, users will actually have to have an active subscription with “participating pay-TV providers,” USA Today reports.

In order to access the Watch ABC live stream of the Oscars, users will have to have a subscription via Comcast, Cablevision, Cox Communications, Charter Communications, Midcontinent Communications, Verizon FiOS, Google Fiber or AT&T U-Verse. Furthermore, only subscribers in certain markets including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Houston, Raleigh Durham or Fresno will actually be able to tap into the online stream.

All users regardless of subscription status and location will get access to a “The Oscars Backstage” experience that will pull footage from three behind the scenes cameras.
