We see a lot of gadgets here at BGR. Some of them look very nice and some of them don’t. But it’s been a while since we’ve seen a cut-off-its-head-with-a-silver-blade-and-stuff-its-mouth-with-garlic level of ugly on par with the smartwatch the Huawei has designed.

Droid Life draws our attention to some pictures that a Huawei exec posted on the Chinese Weibo social networking site of an unnamed smartwatch that has a long ovular display attached to a brightly colored wristband. It’s tough to tell where Huawei got the inspiration for this design but it looks like someone took a slap bracelet and crossed it with the eyepiece that Geordi La Forge wore in Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Droid Life points out that this new device could just be a prototype so it wouldn’t be fair to trash Huawei for releasing something so hideous to the general public. That said, the fact that the company’s executives felt the need to show it off on their social networking pages is… disturbing to say the least.

Another picture of Huawei’s mystery smartwatch follows below if you dare to look upon it.
