Google chairman explains how to herd stray iSheep into Android flock

Google Chairman Schmidt Android User Guide

Even though Apple’s customer loyalty is off the charts, Google chairman Eric Schmidt claims that “many” of his “iPhone friends are converting to Android” and he’s decided to post a handy guide to help these wayward Apple users make the transition to Android. Among other things, Schmidt details how to set up your Android phone, how to sync your Gmail and iPhone contacts and how to sync your iTunes library to Google Play Music.

Somewhat amusingly, Schmidt inadvertently highlights one of the bigger annoyances that Android users have to deal with when he recommends that users “make sure the software on the Android phone is updated to the latest version (i.e. 4.3 or 4.4)” while noting that they “should get a notification if there are software updates” for their particular device. iPhone users, of course, get access to updates as soon as they’re released, which is a major reason why there’s a lot less fragmentation on iOS.
