A new Toshiba ultrabook model will deliver 22 hours of battery life on a single charge, according to the manufacturer, outperforming its competitors when it comes to energy efficiency. In addition to almost all-day battery life, the Dynabook Kira V634 offers a 13.3-inch display with 1,366 x 768 resolution, an Intel Haswell processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB SSD, support for 4K video output and a weight of only 1.12 kilograms. Toshiba also has a high-end variation of this new ultrabook, the Dynabook Kira V834, that packs a 2,560 x 1,440 touchscreen display but only offers 14 hours of battery life.

One of the most popular 13.3-inch laptops in stores, the MacBook Air, offers 12 hours of battery life on a single charge and up to 30 days of standby time on the mid-2013 model.

Toshiba will start selling the two ultrabooks in Japan on November 20th for 144,000 yen ($1,446) and 153,000 yen ($1,530), respectively. A launch date for international markets is not available at this time.
