The big knock on Google’s Glass headset is that while it’s a terrifically innovative piece of technology, it’s also too dorky to catch on among everyday consumers. But it turns out there may be something even dorkier in the pipeline, as The Wall Street Journal has found a patent filing showing Samsung’s answer to Google’s headset. Unlike Google Glass, which is a headband with one small eyepiece that projects images onto your eye, Samsung’s headset looks like a full pair of glasses that even has a USB dongle that sticks out from behind. The Journal says that the device is “linked to a smartphone and displays alerts for information running on the phone, providing easy access to control when the users’ hands are tied with sports activities.” A diagram of the “Galaxy Glass” headset follows below.
