Video: ‘Login and Pay with Amazon’ has the online retailer competing with PayPal

Login and Pay with Amazon

Amazon announced the ‘Login and Pay with Amazon’ service on Tuesday, which will allow online shoppers to use their Amazon account information to quickly complete a transaction with any participating merchants without having to repeatedly type in credit card numbers and shipping addresses. Of course, a company called PayPal has already addressed this issue with its own payment service, but with 215 million active users, Amazon believes it claim a significant stake in the market.

“Login and Pay with Amazon enables companies to make millions of our customers their customers by inviting online shoppers with Amazon credentials to access their account information safely and securely with a single login,” said Tom Taylor, Vice President, Amazon Payments.

Gogo, the in-flight internet provider, will be one of the first partners to adopt the “Pay with Amazon” button later this year. Gogo’s chief commercial officer Ash ElDifrawi says that his company’s users want more payment options, and Amazon provides a payment experience that users enjoy. Plus, customers using “Pay with Amazon” will be entitled to the same benefits that Amazon provides its own customers, such as the A-to-z Guarantee. Amazon’s video tour of the new service follows below.
