Samsung recently broke ground on a brand new Silicon Valley headquarters that just so happens to be mere minutes from Apple’s Cupertino, California campus, but that’s not the only space Samsung has in the Valley. The world’s top smartphone vendor recently held an event to celebrate the opening of its new Silicon Valley startup accelerator in Palo Alto, where it hopes to incubate new companies and new technology that will support Samsung’s future efforts. AllThingsD’s Kara Swisher attended the event and she managed to get Samsung EVP David Eun’s welcome speech on camera. After recounting his experience while aboard Asiana flight 214, which recently crashed while touching down in San Francisco killing three passengers, Eun discussed Samsung’s new accelerator — or “accelerometer,” as Swisher jokes at the beginning 0f the video — and the company’s goals in the Valley. The full video follows below.
