BGR grew at an incredible pace in 2012 and things haven’t slowed at all in the first half of 2013 — our content now reaches as many as 100 million readers each month either directly or through syndication deals with partners including Yahoo!, Fox Business, Fox News and more. BGR has always been driven by a team that thrives on running lean and mean, but it’s time once again to focus on adding new members to our family as BGR’s scope of coverage widens and our reach continues to extend. With that in mind, we are currently looking to fill three positions immediately. If you’re a reporter or tech writer with experience covering consumer electronics and the companies that drive the industry, or if you’re an experienced social media manager looking for new challenges, we want to hear from you right away. Details are as follows:

BGR is looking for two full-time Staff Writers and one Social Media Manager. We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience as well as a comprehensive benefits package.

Staff Writer

We are looking for two full-time Staff Writers to contribute daily content to BGR. Daily responsibilities may include:

  • Writing original content aligned with the style on BGR.com
  • Fielding tips, investigating leads and developing stories
  • Filtering through the noise — we need someone with an eye for news who can filter through the echo chamber and identify important industry developments
  • Reviewing products
  • Writing industry analyses and opinion pieces
  • Live coverage of press conferences and trade shows

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a reporter or tech writer covering consumer electronics, business or market news is required
  • Experience with WordPress preferred but not required
  • Some travel required
  • Located in or around New York City preferred

Social Media Manager

BGR is looking for one full-time Social Media Manager with prior experience representing a brand online. Daily responsibilities may include:

  • Developing and executing a social media strategy focused on adding value and engaging with our audience
  • Representing BGR on social networks including Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and more
  • Building our audience on various social networks and extending our reach
