Earlier reports have indicated that HTC (2498) is pinning its hopes for a comeback on a smartphone codenamed the “M7″ that will launch in Spring 2013 and will become its new flagship device. And now, unnamed sources have seemingly revealed some of the device’s specs to UnwiredView, and they’re definitely some of the most impressive we’ve heard about this year. Among other things, the new device is rumored to feature a 4.7-inch display with a pixel density of 468 pixels per inch, a 1.7GHz quad-core processor, a 13-megapixel camera and a 2,300 mAh battery. Of course, the trouble for HTC is that it has delivered phones with top-notch specs before and still hasn’t been able to loosen the grip that rival Samsung (005930) has on the Android market at the moment. All the same, top-notch specs are better than sub par specs and we’re eager to see what HTC has planned to differentiate its new flagship device from its previous efforts.
