Smartphones running Microsoft’s (MSFT) Windows Phone 8 operating system have been available for a little over two weeks now, and while sales may be better than some expected, consumers are reporting a number of technical problems. Threads complaining about random reboots and poor battery life on Microsoft’s official support forums, along with other communities, have garnered hundreds of replies. HTC Windows Phone 8X owners are reporting random reboots while using their devices, while Nokia Lumia 920 users have seen random reboots, freezes and poor battery life. In an attempt to rid themselves of these persistent problems, Lumia owners attempted to wipe their devices, but some have subsequently found that the device won’t boot up and they are left stuck at Nokia’s splash screen. A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed to ZDNet that the company is currently “investigating reports of these incidents.”
