It looks like the legal battle between Samsung (005930) and Apple (AAPL) still has a long road ahead of it. Unlike HTC (2498), which recently settled its legal disputes with the Cupertino-based company, Samsung has no intentions of doing so. In an interview with Yonhap News, Shin Jong-kyun, head of Samsung’s mobile and IT division, revealed that the South Korean manufacturer doesn’t plan to follow HTC’s legal strategy and will instead continue to fight Apple in court.

“It may be true that HTC may have agreed to pay 300 billion won (US$276 million) to Apple, but we don’t intend to (negotiate) at all,” he said.

Earlier this week, it was reported that HTC and Apple settled their legal differences and entered into a 10-year patent licensing agreement that would cover all current, pending and future patents. While the terms of the agreement were not disclosed, the Taiwanese company is believed to be paying Apple between $6 to $8 for every Android smartphone it sells, which could earn the iPhone-maker an addition $180 to $280 million in annual revenue.

In the U.S., Samsung hasn’t had much success in its legal dispute with Apple. A California court ruled this past August that the company had infringed on Apple’s patents and ordered Samsung to pay more than $1 billion in damages. Things have been going better overseas, however, as a Dutch court recently found that the company did not infringe on Apple’s patents.
