With millions of people still affected by the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, AT&T (T) and T-Mobile have announced that they are waiving late fees for customers in the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, along with customers in Pennsylvania. Both carriers, along with Verizon Wireless (VZ), have also set up charging stations at their retail stores throughout the northeast to allows customers to charge their devices, PCMag reported. Steve Hodges, AT&T’s northeast regional president, said that the companies’ goal “is to help people stay connected to family and loved ones in the aftermath of this terrible storm.” T-Mobile’s late fees will be waived for prepaid and contract customers until November 8th, however AT&T did not specify an end date. Both carriers have been working with each other to help those affected by the storm and earlier this week opened their networks to allow free roaming for customers in the region.
