It has been independently confirmed by both iDownloadBlog and The Verge that Verizon’s (VZ) iPhone 5 is SIM unlocked, meaning that with a proper nano-SIM card, owners can use the device on AT&T’s (T) 3G network and other compatible GSM networks. The iPhone 5 is available in three different models, however, so Verizon’s CDMA iPhone will not have access to AT&T’s 4G LTE network. The unlocked iPhone 5 should also be able to operate properly on T-Mobile’s 3G network in areas where the carrier has refarmed its spectrum.
