While we won’t know for sure what Apple (AAPL) will call its next-generation iPhone until it officially launches, it does seem that Apple is at least internally referring to the device as the “iPhone 5.” 9to5Mac did some nifty detective work by searching for “iphone-5” on Apple’s website and found several pages, including an “Apple introduces the iPhone 5” page and an “iPhone 5 tips” page. While none of the links shown by the search actually work at the moment, 9to5Mac speculates that they will as soon as the new iPhone is announced this afternoon.

UPDATE: The site also found references to LTE on Apple’s site, confirming the inclusion of 4G LTE connectivity in the upcoming iPhone 5, as BGR reported this past July.
