It’s kind of hard to imagine that BGR first launched almost six years ago. In October, the site will turn six and what better way to celebrate our sixth anniversary than to hold a special event for our readers? We held our first ever event for readers with Samsung last year and we had lines outside the venue that were two blocks long in the rain — but this year, we’re making it even bigger. We’re also giving you the opportunity to vote and help pick the location of our anniversary event. Crazy, we know!

UPDATE: New York City it is!

If you’re interested in becoming an event partner and would like to find out about our sponsorship levels, please email our events team at events@bgr.com — space is super limited. We’re currently planning to hold the Fall event around mid-October, and it will be open to the public, though it will also feature some surprise guests, possibly a surprise performance, and of course, loads of giveaways.

Here are some photos of our last event, and for even more fun, our one-year anniversary party from five years ago.

Jonathan S. Geller founded Boy Genius Report, now known as BGR, in 2006. It became the biggest mobile news destination in the world by the end of 2009, and BGR was acquired by leading digital media company PMC in April 2010.

What started as a side project at the age of 16, quickly transpired into 24-hour days and nights of sharing exclusive and breaking news about the mobile communications industry. BGR now reaches up to 100 million readers a month through the website, syndication partners, and additional channels.
