Have you ever wished that your tablet had two screens, one on the front and one on the back? No? Well, Amazon (AMZN) may be developing one anyway as Mashable has found a newly-awarded Amazon patent showing a tablet that has one LCD screen on the front of the device for the standard full-color tablet experience and one E Ink screen on the back that’s designed specifically for reading electronic books.

Interestingly, the Amazon patent says the device will let users move content from one screen to another and will save battery life because some content that would normally be shown on the LCD screen will instead appear on the E Ink screen. While we have no idea if Amazon plans to release its two-faced Kindle anytime soon, it’s likely safe to say it won’t make an appearance when the company hosts its grand tablet event next week.
