‘iPad mini’ production already under way, ramp up reportedly due in September

Apple iPad Mini Release Date

With multiple well-sourced reports have suggested that Apple intends to launch a smaller version of its popular iPad tablet this fall, and new details surrounding Apple’s manufacturing plans may have emerged. According to an anonymously-sourced report from Japanese Apple blog Macotakara, Apple’s “iPad mini” will be manufactured by long-time Apple partner Foxconn at its new facilities in Brazil. Ramp-up is scheduled for September according to the report, but test production is already underway at a Foxconn factory in China. The report claims Apple’s iPad mini will launch ahead of the holidays this year, and the unveiling of the new iPad could come soon after the launch of Apple’s next-generation iPhone, which is also expected this fall. The iPad mini is expected to be priced between $249 and $299, applying serious pressure to low-cost Android tablets.
