It is insane when you think about it. Like 10 dollars a GB? Who the hell would do that?

haha right!…….I’m so glad I’m going to be able to grandfather my unlimited @ Verizon to this phone…….Can’t wait!!

Whats with all this carrier bashing?  Are people so short on things to hate on that they resort to shitting on which carrier a person decides to give money to to use a service?

I’m assuming you’re on Sprint.  Your jealousy is sickening, just relax, I’m sure they will get it eventually.

      • Anonymous

        You were close.

        Manny was right.

        Grandfathered Unlimited FTW.

FYI, Sprint announced they no longer will be going with unlimited data starting in November

    Hey BGR,

Guess what word ISN’T in the press release: Exclusive(ly)

    • Anonymous

That’s a good point.  That’s most definitely something that would be on the top (I would think). “Exclusively from Verizon Wireless”

    • Replying

Considering it’s been mentioned there’s more than one version (LTE being slightly “thicker,”), I would assume that means it’s going to be available to other networks.

Gives the Razr room to breathe.

    • http://www.droiddoes.com/ Norm

Yup gotta sucker in the fools to buy the other piece of laggy garbage that will never get an update

WHAT IN THE SHIT IS THIS SHIT ?!?!?!  Come on already Verizon!

  • http://twitter.com/tiroger Roger Lefort

“Later this year”?! I have a feeling this is going to be a repeat of the Bionic. Announced today, released 6-10 months down the road. Verizon seems determined to blow the release and kill whatever momentum this phone had! Of course this will lead tech pundits to claim it was a failure, proving that Android will never catch on with mainstream consumers. And the cycle continues… (sigh)

Since they know they would be getting a lot of iPhone 4s returned if they announce the Nexus release date before the ” 2 week” worry free guarantee is up. They just say a generic it’s coming.

      • http://www.droiddoes.com/ Norm

I doubt many would return an iPhone for this laggy piece of trash.

      • Anonymous

Wow, you sir are a moron.

      • Anonymous

LOL! That’s funny. I’m sure this phone will be far from laggy, but you’re opinion towards Android humors me.

      • Scott

        I am…

      • http://twitter.com/JayPCrawford Jason Crawford

Yeah me too…The iphone 4s is just boring to me.. But I like to cutomize my phone totally..thats just me

    • Anonymous

Possibly, but remember the Bionic was scheduled to be released this year, and it was announced in January.  Since they are announcing that the phone will be available later this year, it doesn’t leave them with more than 2 months to mess around.  The current leaks show it available November 10th for 299.99 on contract.  If that date comes to pass without the phone, then we can spread some FUD.

    • Anonymous

There’s only 2 months left in the year.

And if the November 10 date holds, that’s still “later this year.”

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_47W6CR65QNWSRIPYCFU4C6VXE4 I

Android will never catch on? Than why did Samsung alone sell more phones than Apple last quarter? Never mind the other Android handset developers.

  • Anonymous

“Though the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus sports a 720p HD display, its 4.65-inch screen is said to be held back by cheaper technology that gives it a lower pixel density and poorer color accuracy than Apple’s Retina Display found on the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4.”.

The above was from one prominent tech blog site.

    FAIL.

    • Fme

      dumbshit

  • http://twitter.com/slumasluma salem sadek

so where is the WORD exclusive in that press release BGR?  Next time do not spread rumors as though they were facts.

  • Enoel69

So if Verizon is getting the phone later in the year…which carrier will be getting the device b4 that. The device already has Tmobile bands and HSPA+, so can Google and Magenta follow tradition and deliver the Nexus first in the US? They might as well do that…seems like Verizon already has its hands full with an array of super devices..Bionic, RAZR, iPhone 4S just to name a few

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_47W6CR65QNWSRIPYCFU4C6VXE4 I

It was already announced that the Pentaband GSM phone will not be released until 2012. This is the phone that will work on AT&T and TMO

While I’m all for supporting the gay community by buying an iPhone 4s, I’d much rather use my cash for this.

Besides, Apple has millions of gay men and teenage girls to sell their phones to.

    • Anonymous

I would imagine the head honcho of Android Andy Rubin would be glad if you could pimp yourself out with your gaznillion former man clients for extra cash to support his Android R&D because of his notorious iPhone envy.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_47W6CR65QNWSRIPYCFU4C6VXE4 I

What envy? Samsung alone sold more phones than Apple did in the last quarter. Apple is on the downslide now

    • Clayton Jones

      hahahaha, pretty funny stuff.

  • Anonymous

Reliable sources had it that Samsung/Google rushed the Nexus announcement to mitigate the projected losses from iPhone 4S launch. They are still having issues in hardware and software they just don’t want to admit it in public.

AMOLED display after all is not something to crow about which work really bad with ICS. That’s what happens when you rush your product. Now they are holding back.

    FAIL.

    • Cam

Really? I could have sworn they pushed it back after Steve Jobs’ passing.

    • Sbenson1189

Just curious on what makes you think that ics doesn’t work well with super amoled HD display? Its not on (officially) any screen type. Just asking?

  • Anonymous

    DOA

    • Anonymous

Nice to see stupid fanboys come out of the woodwork. Does it need repeating that for Q3 samsung outsold apple?

  • Anonymous

So does this mean that those of us on unlimited data plans will be able to get this phone as part of our upgrade and keep our unlimited data plans?

  • Dontask

the article says “a 1.GHz processor,” you guys need to correct that and post that its a dual core 1.2Ghz processor

Here’s what is developing. As of Friday October 21, 2011….in Apple’s patent infringement case against HTC:

“ITC (International Trade Commission) Rejects “Public Interest” Concern on Potential HTC Injunction”

Google/Samsung probably picked this news item up and started questioning themselves if it’s worth releasing Nexus that will potentially face injunction as well. The delay in the actual launch date may be hampered by their attempts to rid Nexus of patent features owned by Apple, thus doing some work-arounds.

    Nexus = FAIL.

Ice Cream Sandwhich look pretty amazing to me I see elements of HTC SENSE in this update/ IE.. the unlocking ring is definately like sense 3.0. the people’s application resembles htc no question android has come a long way and I am very proud of that. I was new to android in Janurary of 2010 I researched which platform I wanted and decided on android and htc brought that easy learning curve and brought beauty to android at a time when pure android was very ugly now pure android has caught up and is no longer ugly. I will be purchasing this device day one on verizon my very first pure android google device and I look forward to that 100%. Meanwhile I will have the best of both worlds with ny HTC EVO 3D ON SPRINT and my new GALAXY NEXUS ON VERIZON what a great world I live in
